ALISTAIR JAMES
Director
Alistair James is a U.S. citizen and U.K. citizen who has worked in Tanzania since 2002. Alistair also brings work experience from Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, and Cameroon. Alistair initially came to Tanzania to work in the hunting industry. In 2004, Alistair opened his own company, Alistair James Safaris, which marketed African hunting trips in the United States and Europe.
Alistair registered Alistair James Company Ltd. in 2006 in order to explore further investment opportunities in the region. Alistair is a fluent Swahili speaker and has successfully executed tourism, grain trading, and transportation projects in the country. Alistair was formally educated at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, U.S.A and holds a B.A. in Economics.

ANGELO CARUSO
Director
Angelo Caruso is a German citizen who has worked in Africa since 1997. Angelo has experience managing logistical and workshop operations in the demining, gemstone, and road construction industries. Angelo has worked on projects in Tanzania as well as Angola, Kenya, and South Sudan.
He served as an officer in the German Army and managed the maintenance and transport section of his battalion from 1987 until 1991. Angelo was formally educated in Germany and holds a Master Mechanics Certificate.

CLEMENTINE JAMES
Director
Clementine James is a U.S. citizen and U.K. citizen who has been working with the Alistair Logistics team since February 2011. She previously served as the Director of Operations for Lillingston, a management consultancy in the UK.
Clementine holds a BA from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, and an MBA from Imperial College Business School, London.

ANNA JOYCE
Tanzania and DRC Area Lead
Anna Joyce is a Tanzanian citizen who has worked with the Company since April 2010. Anna Joyce serves as our Tanzania Area Lead and always ensures her clients are happy at every turn. Anna has previously worked at Asilia Lodges and Camps, and Nashera Hotels on tourism projects in the country. Anna studied at Waldorf College in Iowa, USA and holds a B.A. in Computer Information and Business Management.

Warren van Heerden
Head of Operations (Road Freight)
Warren is a Zimbabwean citizen who joined the Alistair team as Group Head of Operations (Road Freight) in January 2022, after having spent the last decade living and working in Mozambique. He holds a BSocSc Psychological Studies degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Management, both obtained from the University of Cape Town (RSA).
He began his career in the Transport and Logistics industry in 2005 and has worked his way up successfully through various industry-related roles throughout his career with a focus on team management, process management, strategic planning, as well as international fleet management.

Manyanda Maziku
Group Head of HSSEQ
Manyanda is a Tanzanian citizen who joined Alistair Group in July 2019, he leads the HSSEQ and Technical Department. Manyanda has over 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Training Management Systems. He has worked in a cross-sector of companies including Mining, Manufacturing, Certification and Telecom. He has a wide range of experience in managing the organization’s activities in risk assessments, accident investigations, safety audits, and compliance with local and international standards.

Shaun de Koker
Legal & Compliance Lead
Shaun is a South African citizen with more than 10 years of legal experience across the African region. He joined the company as the Head of the Legal Department in July of 2022, after spending 7 years in multiple roles for the world’s largest security company, ranging from legal to specialised technology projects. He holds Bcomm (Law) and LLB degrees from the University of Stellenbosch and is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, as well as a Conveyancer.

Peter Kruger
Group Head of HR and Employee Engagement
Peter, brings over a decade of extensive experience in diverse senior management positions.
In June 2023, he joined Alistair as the Group Head of HR. Initially trained as a lawyer specializing in Labour Law, Peter transitioned into the corporate world.
Prior to his current role, he served as an HR and Payroll Manager, Employee Relations Manager, and General Manager in both the Private Security Industry and the Road Freight and Logistics Industry. Peter’s educational background includes a LLB, LLM, and MBA degrees from the University of Stellenbosch and Stellenbosch Business School.
Currently, he is in the process of completing his DBA in Responsible Leadership, further enhancing his expertise in the field.

Will James
Head of Process
Will holds dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom. Since 2017, he has been employed by Alistair Group, where he takes pleasure in creating and deploying the digital and physical infrastructure that enables Alistair’s teams to consistently deliver high-quality work on a large scale. Will has played a significant role in designing and rolling out the company’s solutions for transportation, warehousing, and document management.
